Helping Japan’s female athletes to shine in the global arena
Yanagiya Honten Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that it has decided to renew and extend the co-sponsorship contract with short track speed skating Japan Olympic team representative Moemi Kikuchi (Waseda University).
Yanagiya Honten has decided to renew and extend the one-year co-sponsorship contract that was concluded in March 2016 with Moemi Kikuchi, who competed in the Sochi Olympics short track speed skating event and participated in the athlete training program of the Japan Olympic Committee (JOC).
In addition to her successes as a top competitor in Japan, including winning the 39th All Japan Short Track Speed Skating Championships, Moemi Kikuchi has achieved outstanding performances internationally, including fourth position at the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games (3000 m relay) and third position at the Winter Universiade (1500 m), reaching world-class levels.
The spirit of Kikuchi, with her impressive record both in Japan and overseas, resonates on many levels with Yanagiya Honten, which has risen to the challenge in both domestic and overseas markets, and has marked five centuries since its foundation. It is this affinity that was behind our decision to co-sponsor Kikuchi.
In addition to this co-sponsorship, Kikuchi will receive our beauty products and other support provided by Yanagiya Honten to help Japan’s female athletes who shine in the global arena to look their best.
